The Way I Work
I am an integrative counsellor which means I incorporate a number of different ways of thinking into my work depending on what you, the client, needs.
My background is in family support and careers advice and citizens advice work. For the past 4 years I have worked for the NHS in occupational health where I have helped people with problems that are affecting their work, whether it be work related stress, illness, working relationships, retirement or finding the right balance between work and home life.
I adopt a person-centred approach and work towards building a trusting therapeutic relationship that ensures a comfortable working partnership.
I encourage clients to think about what they want to achieve from counselling and work towards meeting their goals.
The core of my work is helping clients to be heard in a safe, non-judgmental space.
I explore the link between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours as well as explore your responses to people and events and any limiting beliefs around yourself.
Using varied techniques, we can challenge your learnt behaviours and patterns and discover mindful techniques that can help with stress and anxiety and allow you to relax, de-stress, focus on self-compassion, wellbeing and change.
My approach allows for a tailored approach to individual clients which means I am sensitive to your needs and pace so we can focus on the practical steps that can help you bring balance to your life.
